Questions we get asked

Why only November to April?

Overnight landings in the reserve are only permitted in the high season. It's also the coolest, most comfortable time to sleep out.

What's provided for sleeping?

Everything: the full camping setup is included and ready when you land, tents and bedding included.

Are there toilets on the island?

Facilities on the island are limited, and the boat's toilet stays available overnight.

What about food and water?

BBQ dinner, breakfast and refreshments are all included. Tell us about dietary needs when you book and we'll plan the menu around them.

Is it safe at night?

A licensed crew stays with the group throughout the trip, from cast-off to the return cruise.

About the turtles: an honest note

Green and hawksbill turtles live around the Daymaniyat year-round, and most snorkeling trips see them, often up close. But they're wild animals in a protected reserve: we don't chase, touch, feed or corner them, and we can't script an encounter. What we can promise is a crew that knows the sites where turtles actually are, and the patience to let the ocean do its thing.

What to bring

  • Swimwear (wear it under your clothes)
  • Towel, hat and sunglasses
  • Reef-safe sunscreen (the reserve's coral will thank you)
  • A dry bag for phones and cameras
  • Seasickness tablet an hour before, if you're prone

We provide all snorkeling gear, life jackets (adult and child sizes), drinking water and snacks.
